A namesake of 10 year old Josiah Rising, the "unredeemed captive" of the Deerfield Raid of 1704, is Josiah Rising, the Revolutionary War Veteran of Sheldon's Light Dragoons. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this site. I've been working a little here and there on the Rising tree. I'm from Dillon, South Carolina and I've made as far back and Andrew Rising. I was always told that we are English. Well, the heritage that is. But, now I've found out that Andrew and his brother John came over to the US from Scotland.

Still working on this when possible.

If anyone is interested in this... i got pretty far along on ancestry.com with it. It contains information about both sides of my family, including the 'Risings' and the 'Wolfes' ... so if you're a Rising, you will have to remove the maternal side. :)
